777 - Cosmosophy by Blut Aus Nord, released 21 September 2012 1. Epitome XIV 2. Epitome XV 3. Epitome XVI 4. Epitome XVII 5. Epitome XVIII The denouement. The calm after the storm (but, still, disquiet interrupts the serenity); when the floods have washed away the debris. The circle is closed. Haunting, dreamlike, an altered state has been achieved. All-knowing wisdom prevails. At one with all – omniscient. Soaring, alive with insight, bursting with extra-ordinary energy.

777 – Cosmosophy is the tenth full-length album by French black metal band Blut Aus Nord. It was released on September 21, 2012 through Debemur Morti Productions. This is the third and final album of the 777 trilogy that begin with the 2011 album '777 – Sect(s)'. The album was recorded, mixed, and mastered at Earthsound Recording in 2012 and the artwork was created by Dehn Sora in collaboration with Metastazis Studios.

With 777: Cosmosophy, France's Blut Aus Nord conclude the widely lauded trilogy of albums that began in March of 2011. The first two parts of the concept, 777: Sect(s) and 777: The Desanctification, were mirror images of one another. The former, a sonic assault that at moments referred musically to the band's landmark 2004 album The Work Which Transforms God, while The Desanctification its opposite, is a glacial, brooding set of blackened atmospherics and textures.

But Blut Aus Nord, the long-running and ever-challenging French black metal project of Vindsval, has never played live. In 2011, Norwegian magazine Metal Hammer asked the leader if, despite his previous live reluctance, Blut Aus Nord might ever consider the transition to the stage. Our music," he replied tersely, "is a solitary experience. Every listen to a Blut Aus Nord album, no matter how familiar, seems to reveal a new pattern or seam that you've missed only because it's so well integrated. If black metal was once the primordial punk rock of some angry and infamous kids, it is, for Blut Aus Nord, the foundation for a very ornate institution. That's the abiding lesson of 777, the three-album, two-hour trilogy that the band's released through French powerhouse Debemur Morti Productions during the last 18 months.

Blut Aus Nord are the creation of Vindsval, a singer/guitarist who got the ball rolling in Mondeville, France in 1993. At first, Vindsval's creation was known as Vlad - as in Vlad the Impaler - and for a few years Vindsval had more of a project than an actual band. Thanks to technology and a thing called overdubbing, Vindsval was able to record two demos by himself as Vlad (In the Mist in 1993 and Yggdrasil in 1994) and function as a "one-man band" in the studio Liber II appeared in the spring of 2012, as did 777: Cosmosophy, the final chapter of that album series, in October of 2012 Liber III, was issued in November of 2013, as were the reissues of its first two volumes.

Is anybody else troubled with loud clicks and pops on this pressing? Mine sounds pretty bad in some places. Now I understand why this version is cheaper than the black version :/

Just been listening to this and mine sounds fantastic - no clicks or pops at all. Think you may have just gotten unlucky with your copy.
