Complete your Kiss collection. Even though a couple songs that should have been there were left off ("Move On" and "Snowblind" in particular) and there is entirely too much Peter Criss (but really any is too much lol). The coolest thing about it is : that you can put it on and it plays like a lost KISS album, a "what if they didn't do the solo albums" alternate timeline if you will.

The Best Of The Solo Albums ‎(LP, Comp, RE). Casablanca. Reply Notify me 2 Helpful.

The Kiss solo albums were made, at least partially, because some members were frustrated with the creative direction of the band or their roles within the group. It doesn't seem Paul Stanley suffered from anything like that, though. Left to his own devices, he basically just made another (darn good) Kiss record, primarily composed of straight-ahead, hooky anthems like this one. 9. "Wiped-Out". We're especially glad we didn't have to write a Top 10 Kiss Solo Album Songs list without this irresistibly sunny and catchy number, which finds our lovestruck Spaceman simply trying to get home to his girl. But let's be honest, given his track record, hopefully someone else was driving, right? 4. "Radioactive". Like Paul Stanley (see No. 10 on our list of the Top Kiss Solo Album Songs), Gene Simmons wasn't bored or unfulfilled by his role in Kiss.

As part of an ingenious marketing gimmick, KISS did not release an album or tour during 1978; instead, each member of the band released a solo album, dedicated to the other three band members. These self-titled albums (Peter Criss, Ace Frehley, Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley) all sold well, but were inconsistent in quality to say the least. Thus, while a winnowing down of the solo album tunes, the quality is still inconsistent across the record, with Ace Frehley and Paul Stanley’s tracks standing out as the best. Best of Solo Albums (European Version) Q&A.

There are three different versions of Best of Solo Albums (German, Australian, and European), each with a different track listing. The European version is the most common of the three, featuring three tracks from each solo album. Included are such highlights as Ace Frehley's "New York Groove," and Paul Stanley's "Tonight You Belong to Me," Gene Simmons' "Radioactive," and Peter Criss' "Tossin' and Turnin'

The response to the four solo albums was lukewarm at best. Casablanca Records had banked on every loyal member of the KISS Army snapping up all four albums, which would've totaled an easy five million in .

Best of solo albums ( non-usa) (1979/80). Long deleted solo album compilation which has NEVER OFFICIALLY BEEN RELEASED ON CD. The South African cover also varies. Of the German versions, both feature discographies of the label's KISS output, the Bellaphon issue includes a list of singles. The Bellaphon issue also lists the songs on the back cover in the respective color of each member.
