Posts: 52. Klonopin to sleep. I do not know much about this med besides it is suppose to be for anxiety but my doctor prescribed it to help me sleep. Location: US. Gender: Male. I am prescribed 1 mg as needed of klonopin for my anxiety. It helps lower my anxiety when it comes on and I have Also noticed it makes me drowsy so I most definitely take one before bed and in about 30 minutes I can fall asleep so calmly. I read Dr. Cheney's article on Klonopin (thinking of asking for it from my doc) but most authorities disagree with him and think that it disturbs deep/delta sleep. What has been your experience? Likewise, is anyone out there like me and have a really hard time falling asleep even if drugged. because I can not afford Ambien. He said it DOES promote delta sleep. I sleep pretty well on it! It doesn't put you to sleep as fast as Ambien, but I do not have tossing and turning can't sleep episodes. I take it about 30 minutes before I plan to go to sleep, get in bed and read till I'm groggy, turn off the light and then I'm out. Best wishes, Hayley. TNhayley, Aug 10, 2003. It allows me to get good quality, refreshing sleep. I wake up feeling alert without grogginess
Sleep helps us stay healthy, but it also helps our brains remember. Our brains need good sleep to remember what we do and learn during the other two thirds of our lives when we are awake. 3D images of synapses that shrink during sleep.
Klonopin is the brand name for a generic prescription drug called Clonazepam. We will use these two words interchangeably in this article. It is classified as an anti-epileptic drug used to treat seizures, panic attacks, and anxiety. It is also considered a central nervous system (or CNS) depressant. This helps reduce nerve activity. It slows down over-activity and soothes the mind. Klonopin is slower acting than Xanax and it is not as powerful. It requires more time for the drug to take effect because the half-life is greater. This means it takes about four hours for the body to start processing it out of your system. As a result, lingering effects of the drug are much longer. Users say they feel drugged for up to 12 hours.
Is it okay to take nightquil to help me sleep at night I take klonopin 3 milligrams a day for panic attacks and I'm scared and I wanted to question it? Have prescription for 1mg klonopin, (clonazepam) I normally take it every Sunday night, as I have anxiety and trouble sleeping. Is it ok to use this once a week? I take Effexor (venlafaxine) and klonopin is it normal to just fall asleep? I will come home from work sit down, watch tv and not even know I fell asleep.
Klonopin is a common brand name for the generic medication clonazepam. It belongs to a class of drugs referred to as benzodiazepines. 1 It’s also abused by people seeking to experience its pleasurable effects such as relaxation and euphoria. People tend to develop a tolerance to Klonopin, causing them to require increasingly higher doses to get the same effect. People who are dependent on Klonopin and stop using are likely to experience withdrawal symptoms, which can range from mild to severe and last for up to 4 weeks.
Klonopin is the brand name of clonazepam, a benzodiazepine commonly prescribed to treat seizures, panic attacks, and anxiety. Like many drugs in the benzodiazepine class, Klonopin can be habit-forming even for those who take it as prescribed. Suddenly quitting Klonopin can result in severe and potentially fatal withdrawal symptoms. 3 Professional substance abuse treatment can help minimize the risks of relapse.
Klonopin (Clonazepam) is a benzodiazepine drug that is commonly prescribed for management of epileptic seizures as well as anxiety and panic attacks. Hallucinations: Some people experience hallucinations upon withdrawal from Klonopin and other benzodiazepines. You could consider taking over-the-counter headache relief and see if it helps. Headaches should lessen in intensity as your anxiety decreases and your body gets used to functioning without the drug. Insomnia: Many people actually take this drug as a sleep aid and/or to help them relax so that they can fall asleep. Do not be surprised if you have difficulties with sleep and/or staying asleep when you initially withdraw. This is usually a result of significant spikes in anxiety following withdrawal.
Clonazepam (Klonopin) is a common culprit. It belongs to a class of drugs called benzodiazepines. They have been used as sleeping agents for decades. They have many other uses including the treatment of anxiety, seizure and muscle spasm. I recently moved across the US and being between Doctors has let my prescription lapse. I tried in vain last week to get a stopgap with no solution. I am now on my 5th day of no more than 3-4 hours of interrupted sleep(none for the first 2 days at all) I get up once or twice each night, I wake up at 4 and cant go back to sleep.
