The Essential Clash is a career-spanning greatest hits album by The Clash first released in 2003. It is part of the ongoing 'The Essential' Sony BMG compilation series. The album is dedicated to Joe Strummer, who died during its compilation. The B-side recording "Radio Clash" was released on the US version of this album with the incorrect A-side title of "This Is Radio Clash". The B-side is a remix of the A-side with additional lyrics. Both tracks have the same length.
This is a 1992 A&M Compilation cassette in a clear plastic case with white letter. No. 540 030 4. Made in Canada. The tape media is ferric-oxide. It features many of the most famous The Police hits, including my favourite "Can't Stand Losing You". Dolby encoded, presumably B, as no other indication is given on the cassette. The sound quality is excellent with surprisingly good sound stage and dynamic range, a good example is "Doo Doo Da Da".

Released to coincide with the Police's 2007 reunion tour, this double-disc retrospective offers a fine, detailed view of the band's career. You get "Fall Out," an early single with real punk bite from before the trio locked in their sleek but spiky new-wave reggae sound. There's plenty of space given over to the remembered hits and for such essential Police tracks as "Hole in My Life" and "Bring On the Night.
