Iconoclast is a music studio album recording by SYMPHONY X (Progressive Metal/Progressive Rock) released in 2011 on cd, lp, vinyl and/or cassette. Iconoclast" is the heaviest, darkest album Symphony X has ever put out, continuing to shed it's symphonic, neo classical elements.
Iconoclast is the kind of album you wouldn't expect to be as good as it is. And, believe me, it is REALLY that good. Despite some annoying filler tracks (that do not make any difference at all), Nazxul managed to release a near perfect album. During the almost 50 minutes of Iconoclast, you will probably feel immersed in it’s amazing ambience of melodies, orchestrations and, of course, chaotic blast beats. There’s a lot of tempo variations throughout the album that make you feel like you’re in an epic travel through the very depths of hell and if a comparison is to be made, I can say that Iconoclast is a fusion of Satyricon's Nemesis Divina with Emperor’s Anthems To The Welkin And Dusk.
