Irish Coffee (2). Profile: Original Members: William Souffreau (vocals and guitar), Jean Van Der Schueren (lead guitar), Hugo Verhoye (drums), Willy De Bisschop (bass), Paul Lambert (+1975) (organ) Later with: Luc De Clus (guitar), Raf Lenssens (drums) Actual: William Souffreau (vocals and guitar), Kris Van Der Cammen (drums), Franky Cooreman (bass), Frank Van Essche (lead guitar) and Stany Van Veer (organ). In four days time only the first album Irish Coffee (2) - Irish Coffee was recorded. In spite of the fact that everything had to be arranged in such a short time the album contains some songs of a great quality. Songs like "A Day Like Today" and "The Beginning Of The End" are timeless. Some 3000 copies of the album were sold (quite a lot for a Belgium group). Through the years the album Irish Coffee (2) - Irish Coffee became one of the most collected Belgium albums.

Album, 1971, Triangle Records. 1. Can't Take It. 2. The Beginning of the End. 3. When Winter Comes. 4. The Show (Part I). 5. The Show (Part II).

The quintet Irish Coffee put out a self-titled album of humdrum blues-based hard rock with an edgy attitude in 1971 on Triangle Records, reissued on CD in 2002 by Akarma.

Irish Coffee are a hard rock band from Aalst, East Flanders, Belgium, that officially started playing in 1970. They are best remembered for their single "Masterpiece" which made it to the Belgian charts. The band's music was a combination of hard rock and blues rock, with searing lead guitar parts and strong vocals. The band broke up in 1975 but reformed in 2002 with a new organist and bassist. Irish Coffee's origin can be traced back to another band called The VooDoo, which was formed in 1969.

Irish Coffee originated from another band called "The VooDoo". This heavy band made the region of Aalst Belgium unsafe in the early sixties with American and British rock'n'roll covers. They also played covers of, The Beatles and The RollingStones. Former member Dirk Dierickx recalls "the foreign offerings were so good at that time we hardly ever thought of writing our own stuff". Irish Coffee was then formed in 1970 with composer William Souffreau.

Notes

Made in France printed on white label.
But this is an Italian bootleg (despite the "Made In France") that was released in 1992 at the same time as the UK-bootleg of the same album on Satori. Originals were only pressed on Triangle (yellow label) in Belgium and nowhere else! This information is verified by the band itself and by the booklet to the Thors Hammer-CD-edition that lists all bootlegs with details.
