is the ninth studio album by the English rock band Genesis. It was released in March 1978 by Charisma Records and is their first recorded as a trio of singer/drummer Phil Collins, keyboardist Tony Banks, and bassist/guitarist Mike Rutherford following the departure of guitarist Steve Hackett. The album marked a change in the band's sound, mixing elements of their progressive rock roots with shorter material, and Collins contributing to more of the group's songwriting.
And Then There Was Pop. Following the respective departures of Peter Gabriel and Steve Hackett in ’75 and ’77, Genesis entered into what was to be their longest and most successful period as a trio. Tony Banks, Phil Collins and Mike Rutherford signified this second rearrangement with. which served as the transition from Wind & Wuthering’s fading progressive wanderings to the pop-infested Duke. Divided as it is, there are plenty of parts to the album that manage to appease the progressive crowd, even if the average song length is shortened. Collins is coming into his own as a vocalist at this point, seeming more confident and having a far larger presence than before, although the sound still relies heavily on Banks’ keyboards.

Trespass is Genesis' best album ever by far. It has great songwriting and the performance is stellar. A very magnetic album. You just keep coming back to it. Good mix of commercial and long songs. A record of the times and still played on radio And Then There Were Three. How is We Can't Dance higher? - ICader. This is a very decent album. It reminds me a lot of Pink Floyd's Animal's. I've never seen Genesis use such a dark atmosphere.
GENESIS-And Then There Were Three 12" LP Album Vinyl charisma 1978. One of the best tracks from the album, "Scenes From A Night Dream", recounts the story of Little Nemo and includes some fantastic subject matter that prog rock fans will enjoy. If there's any knock on the album, it's that the band can be noisy in their pursuit of a suitably "large" sound as a trio. Oddly, GENESIS seemed to recover better from the loss of Peter GABRIEL than HACKETT.
