Relapse Records then re-issued tracks from the 'The Merciless Face Of Evil' as part of the 'Brazilian Assault' compilation album. The debut demo was 1999’s The Merciless Face Of Evil. The group appeared on the split record Brazilian Assault the year after, which was issued by Relapse and featured the demo material. Mighty Music signed the band and issued the debut, Immortal Unholy Triumph. Upon splitting up the band attributed it to incompatibilities of ideas and interests between the band members. NEPHASTH - CONCEIVED BY INHUMAN BLOOD - MIGHTY When recently my subjects were asked to nominate one album that would best represent the sound of punishment and agony that would be inflicted on any traitors at Metallian Towers the overwhelming vote went to Nephasth's latest album. Such is the vicious and violent sound emanating from this album. The Brazilian quartet is responsible for some of the purest death metal anywhere. Even Krisiun has to bow to these maniacs.
Biography by Eduardo Rivadavia. Brazilian death metal band Nephasth was founded in the city of Porto Alegre in 1997 by guitarists Rafael Barros and Marcos Moura, bassist/vocalist Fabio Lentiono, and drummer Mauricio Weimar. Originall. ead Full Biography. Now seriously gathering steam, the group adopted the name Nephasth in 1999 and recorded a self-financed EP entitled The Merciless Face of Evil the following year. Its tracks were later featured in Relapse Records' very popular Brazilian Assault compilation - which almost single-handedly introduced the New Wave of Brazilian Death Metal to an unsuspecting world. In turn, this exposure led to a deal with Mercenary Musik, which released their international debut, Immortal Unholy Triumph, in 2001.
