Hokum is ‘blues with a smile on its face’ and the Hotshots do it very well. The Hokums are almost house-trained and would make agreat addition to any bues club or fastival guest list. The Hokum Hotshots are an acoustic duo based in the North East of England. Hokum Hotshots augmented with fabulous Harmonica from Little Billy Newton and the Jug playing colossus that is Michael "Fruitlips" Watson. JugBand music from the 20's and 30's by theh greats like the Memphis Jug Band and Gus Cannon's Jug Stompers. Silly songs, silly hats and some seriously silly music. Bring your own Kazoo. Oh, what a wreck I am Maybe it's the blues That keeps me worried all the time If I could only lose these very blues that are resting on my mind. The happiness that comes my way Never comes to stay If I only had someone to drive my tears away. Maybe it's love That makes me sit around and cry I keep your picture hanging around. I want someone to hold my hand Don't break it down Maybe it's the blues that's on my mind
